Join us on Los Toros Mission Sunday September 26-27

The Los Toros Foundation, in conjunction with Saint Joseph Parish, has been working to empower people of the village of Los Toros in the Dominican Republic since 1987. In nearby Sajanoa, a smaller and poorer village, La Fundación Los Toros has also been reaching out to help.

In this photo, we see Piensa (striped shirt) visiting the home of one of her neighbors. Piensa is one of the main leaders in Sajanoa who works with our Dominican partners in Los Toros to address the needs of the poor in her village.

For many years, Piensa has led the group of women in Sajanoa who serve on the Prenatal Care Team. They support women through pregnancy and through the first year of their babies’ lives. In addition, Piensa watches out for others who have emergency medical needs and coordinates help for families who need home safety improvements.

By US standards, Piensa herself is poor. Still, she takes seriously the call of Christ to care for those in greater need. Your generosity to the Los Toros Foundation during the Annual Mission Fund Appeal, and throughout the year, empowers Piensa in her work.

There are many more people and more ways that the Los Toros Foundation empowers people to work for the common good.

Come to the Los Toros Mission Sunday gathering in St. Joseph Parish’s Gathering Place following the Masses on September 26 and 27. The exhibition of poster-size photos is a visual report of the works of the mission.

Thank you for giving thoughtful consideration to making a generous gift to the Los Toros Mission Appeal.
