Los Toros Scholarship Recipients Now Teach in Area Schools

Did you know that many of the teachers in the schools in Los Toros and surrounding area studied and graduated with the help of scholarships provided by donors to the Los Toros Foundation’s Beca (scholarship) Program?

With your support of the Los Toros Mission, these eleven men and women now teach math, science, English, physical education, and other subjects in elementary and secondary schools in the area: Melania Céspedes, Bernardina Vicente, Mirella De León, Yoel Concepción Beltre, Israel Mateo, Junior Ramirez, Bladimir Pérez, Leonaci Ledesma, Pedro Reyes Beltre, Yirbel Lugo De Leon, and Carlos De León.

To be hired as teachers, after earning their undergraduate education degrees, they must still complete added requirements for certification. This may take a couple of months to a couple of years.

Five more graduates are currently working on earning certification or have chosen to use their education in other careers:  Yeral De León, Bladimir Méndez, Yordani De Oleo, Niwton De León, and Miguel Gerónimo.
