Highlights of the January Los Toros Mission Trip:

- Interviews with the students (and parents) currently receiving becas (scholarships).
- Committee work with the Los Toros members of the Beca (scholarship) Committee.
- Evaluation meeting with the mentor and the teacher of the deaf child in Los Toros whom we are sponsoring at the school for the deaf in nearby Azua.
- Meetings with the prenatal health teams in both Los Toros and in nearby Sajanoa. Supplies collected at St. Joseph Parish were delivered to them.
- Meetings with the Dominican Fundación Los Toros about their current priorities, 2025 budget, and increased outreach to include families in Sajanoa.
- Follow-up with the Los Toros Fire Department Superintendent and with the mayor of Los Toros on the status of the pending purchase of a firetruck.
- Food, clothing and school supplies were donated to families in the Haitian community on the edge of Los Toros.
- Meeting in the computer lab at the Los Toros high school with the tec teacher, who is one of our scholarship graduates. The school received 20 new laptops for the lab in October from the Dominican Department of Education.
- Celebration of the baptism of a grandchild of one of the parish leaders at a Mass followed by a dinner with both Father Jeison and former Pastor, Father Sandro.
